Molding & Tooling
C&M's mold manufacturing is performed in-house to handle all your molding needs. We provide custom tooling and mold making to produce a superior product for everyone from OEM's and distributors, to prototypes and inventors. C&M's molding capabilities include:
-
Hot melt technology (low pressure injection molding) conducive to PCB encapsulation, environmental proofing, increased structural integrity and protection of terminations.
-
Thermoplastic molding useful for environmental proofing, increased structural integrity, protection of terminations.
-
Insert injection molding (overmolding) is utilized to contour and streamline assemblies and interconnects to meet mechanical design requirements and styling.
-
Silicone molding (LSR) used for parts or assemblies required to be autoclaved, chemically resistant, wear & abrasion resistant and/or to meet temperature extremes. |

At C&M, 3300 sq.ft. is designated to just the designing and manufacturing of tooling to perform any and all tooling demands required for overmolds and assemblies. A wide range of mold tools are produced for thermoplastics, insert molds, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and polyamide hotmelt. The C&M engineers utilyze a wide range of designing software i.e. Solid Works, Pro-E, SDRC IDEAS, AutoCAD, CAD Key and Master/CAM while at the same time providing all the appropriate viewing software to their customers. This ensures that the right amount of overmold, the ideal straight mold, or the perfect degree of insert-molded strain and bend relief is provided for a customer’s particular specification. The tooling area provides for:
- mold design
- mold fabrication
- mold commissioning (accelerated part-to-production lead time)
- in-house machine shop - CNC Machining - EDM Machining - Grinding - Assembly
- Pad printing
